Classic Crossing in Brazil

Post by MapsSurfer » Tue Mar 05, 2019 8:48 pm

I found this video taken at the Quitauna Station in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This crossing is located along the CPTM Suburban Railway which operates in the Sao Paolo Region.

Here is the video, the guy talks quite a bit, but the bell is still audible. Note: I speak Spanish, but to me the Brazilian Portuguese accent sounds super weird! >D

Interestingly, the Black & White Barriers are a recent installation. Before the crossing had Yellow & Black (Very rare nowadays) Striped Gates.

The Black & White A-Frames were installed sometime before April of 2015 as seen here:

This is far from the only crossing in Brazil with Vintage American Equipment, other stations along the CPTM have these types.
Like here in Agua Branca, which has a beautiful Quad-Gate Setup! :D
