This topic is where you can put a picture or a google map link of a bell you found and we can discuss what kind it is.

first, does anybody know what this is? It appears to be a WRRS mechanical bell but the color seems a bit off and has a stairstep base. https://www.google.com/maps/@33.9838896 ... 384!8i8192

Here is another on the same line https://www.google.com/maps/@33.8845152 ... 384!8i8192

They look more like 1st Gen WCH bells to me. It's just that the bells use 4 inch bases, and as the signals use 5 inch masts, they have an adapter on them. You can see it quite a bit on Griswold/RACO/1st Gen Safetran mechanical bells on gated signals, due to the fact that those bells had cast-on 4 inch bases.
They/Them for me, please.

I know but it has a wrrs style latch and usually late wrrs/early wch look like this where the gong is rusted and the body is silver https://www.google.com/maps/@33.7405066 ... 384!8i8192 see how there is 2 colors not 1

Probably repainted at some point years ago, and is starting to rust back through on the gongs then. With at least one of them, it becomes clearer that it's WRRS based on the latch, but the other two are hard to tell.

Again, they're standard WRRS (or FS or WCH 1st Gen) bells, just with a 4 inch base on a 5 inch adapter.

Well the line that it is on is not in service and they are removing equipment. a couple years ago there was a pile of gates and a pair of wrrs lights, but I could not take them because there was a worker working on a signal. Maybe if i'm lucky ill catch the worker taking it down.

Also, do you think this is a wrrs or possible a rrs. This one is gone now https://www.google.com/maps/@33.9755741 ... 312!8i6656
But this one still stands, https://www.google.com/maps/@33.9894484 ... 384!8i8192

Do not double-post. These two posts should've been combined into one, especially since the second was only 6 minutes after the first.

If no-one responds to your previous post, don't make a new post until at least 24 hours have passed. (Obviously, this doesn't apply if someone responds to the thread after you've posted.)

Also, you should probably double-check your grammar while you're at it.

Ok sorry. They were 2 different bells so I thought i would post 2. Also, I know this is a raco bell but some have a double base, and some have a single base. is this a generation thing or a pole thing?

Single base https://www.google.com/maps/@33.9892619 ... 384!8i8192

Double base https://www.google.com/maps/@33.9901609 ... 384!8i8192.

Thank you for your patience!
