Mountain Gap Road, Huntsville, AL
Signal on the left: 5 pairs of WCH 12x20 inch lights and a WCH electronic bell.
Signal on the right: 4 pairs of WCH 12x20 inch lights.
The signals here use traffic light mast-arms instead of normal crossing cantilevers.

The bell is now dead and the tail-ring has returned:
The signal on the left in the video also has a blown bulb as well.

Re: Mountain Gap Road, Huntsville, AL
*originally recorded on 7-15-21*
Signal on the left: 5 pairs of WCH 12x20 inch lights and a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell.
Signal on the right: 4 pairs of WCH 12x20 inch lights.
On July 15th, I got-up kinda late, but since the day was nice, I decided to head-out and see what was running locally, especially to see if the HMCR was running. Sure enough, they were, as on my way I heard them working down around Rocket, but they began to leave before I got there. Thankfully, I was able to catch-up with them before they reached Mountain Gap, and got set-up just before the crossing activated. Here we see them on their trip back north to downtown Huntsville, with the B39-8s for power and Doug at the controls once again.
As you can see, since I last recorded this crossing, the bell here has been replaced with a re-used GS Type 2. The bell at this crossing was actually the dead one on the larger cantilever at Airport Road, and they were able to get it repaired and re-use it here. Apparently the WCH Type 2 was still working when it was removed, but the HMCR chose to go ahead and replace it because it had issues operating in cold weather, often refusing to come on. No other major changes have occured here though, and the far signal still has its dead bulb on this side.

No changes here as of 4-17-23:
This is also now one of the last two fully incandescent crossings on the HMCR.
