*originally recorded on 1-27-23*

Signal on the left: 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs and 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x20 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs.
Signal on the right: 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x20 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, and a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell.

Shortly after M647 came through, the crew for L693 got going, so I went on over to this crossing to catch them. After a little bit of waiting, L693 came through with an ex-Chessie System caboose leading the train as a shoving platform, and an ex-B&O GP40-2 shoving on the rear for power. Certainly always nice seeing another caboose, been a good while since I last shot one. Also somewhat cool that both the caboose and GP40-2 were used by the Chessie System, a bit of a matched set here.

This crossing is a very nice one, and is easily my favorite on the CSX Belfast Branch. The signals here were installed by the L&N back in the 1970s, and are still fairly original. In the late-90s, it appears that CSX replaced the bell here with the current GS Type 1. Then, in 2012/2013, CSX upgraded this crossing to LED, replacing the original MI 8 inch lights on the masts with the current Safetran 12x24s in the process. Since then, thankfully, no major changes have occurred to this crossing, and both signals still retain their original MI 12x20 inch overhead lights; the only 12x20 inch lights left on the S&NA North Sub in fact! Hopefully these signals continue to remain unchanged for many more years to come.
Unfortunately, some strong gusts of wind came through during most of the activation, largely drowning out the GS Type 1 here. If the next time I return to Lewisburg, the wind isn't as strong, I'll see about trying again for this crossing, but, either way, this video's still fairly usable and I'm glad I got to record this crossing at long last. I'd suspected there may have been a GS Type 1 here, and I'm glad to see I was right. A few of the LEDs in the overhead lights have also had the arrays fall out of the lenses.

Got a video here on 2-10-23 when it wasn't nearly as windy, so now you can hear the bell better:
