Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights.
Signal on the right: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights and a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell.

Once NS 385 finished-up their switching, I decided to film the train at the next crossing north, as it still has a pair of gateless signals. Here we see 385 continuing on their trip south, I believe to Mobile, with the same pair of GEs as seen in the last video.

This crossing is a fairly decent one, featuring a pair of gateless SOU signals installed back in the 1970s. I'm not entirely sure if the far signal was a replacement installed by the late-SOU around the early-80s, or if the lights were just upgraded by the late-SOU in the early-80s, but it doesn't seem to have been changed any since then. At some point, the closer signal had the base cover on its Safetran base replaced with a re-used Griswold one, though I'm not entirely sure when that happened either. Anyways, it seems this crossing remained largely unchanged until sometime in the 2000s, when NS replaced the bell here with the current GS Type 2 e-bell. Finally, sometime between 2009 and 2013, the original 8 inch lights on the closer signal were replaced with the current Safetran 12x20 inch lights, and thankfully no further major changes appear to have occurred here since.
