*originally recorded on 10-5-24*

Signal on the left: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
Signal on the right: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.

After I caught the southbound Amtrak Crescent, I decided to see if I could try to beat 394 to a crossing to my east, since I knew they roll rather slow through the Anniston area. Thankfully I was able to beat them to this crossing in rural Cleburne County between Heflin and Edwardsville with plenty of time to spare. Here we see NS 394 for the second time on this day.

This crossing is another nice one, featuring a pair of cantilevers at it that NS installed back in the mid-90s. Sometime in the 2000s, I believe, NS replaced the bell on the far signal with the current GS Type 2 e-bell. Then, sometime between 2015 and 2021, NS replaced the bell on the closer signal with the current GS Type 3 e-bell. Thankfully, the signals remain fairly original otherwise, including still having the bells here ring when the gates rise!
