*originally recorded on 10-26-24*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

After catching the second northbound mixed freight, I continued northwest back into Tennessee as I was heading to snag myself some lunch at a nearby Subway. As I was approaching this crossing, Elliot alerted me to an approaching northbound, so I decided to stop here and set-up for it. Thankfully, some clouds rolled-in while I was waiting, which allowed me to shoot on the north side of the crossing without it being extremely backlit. Either way, I was able to get my fifth train of the day here: yet *another* northbound mixed freight with an AC44C6M leading an SD70ACe for power.

This crossing is a pretty decent one, featuring a mid-2000s NS install that appears to have replaced a 1980s NS install that was previously here. Strangely, rather than using 12x20s here, NS decided to have these signals be 12x24 inch, which is a bit unusual for an NS install of this age. Either way, they haven't really changed since they were originally installed, aside from the replacement of the gate arms and gate lights on the closer signal at some point. The bell here is also still set to ring when the gates rise, which is great to see, while the far signal has its lights mounted off-center, strangely enough (and can be seen better in Elliot's video of this crossing). The closer signal has lost its crossbuck sometime recently, which certainly makes it look a bit strange as well. Definitely glad I was able to film on this side though, don't think I've filmed a crossing with a missing crossbuck like this before.
