Crownover Road #2, near Anderson, TN

*originally recorded on 1-17-25*

Signal on the left: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, an NEG electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

After I caught C306 in Cowan, I decided to chase them south towards Anderson. Swinging around the winding roads between Cowan and Sherwood, I was able to catch-up with the coal train at Sherwood. Thankfully, I was able to beat them to this crossing with a couple of minutes to spare, so here we get to see CSX C306 again, though with the Cowan Pusher having since detached from the rear of the train.

This crossing is a pretty decent one, featuring a late-90s CSX install that has since been decently modernized. Sometime between 2014 and 2017, CSX replaced the bell here with the current NEG e-bell. At about the same time (or certainly at least between 2016 and 2017), CSX upgraded the lights here to Leotek EV Series LEDs as well. Nothing else too major has changed to this crossing since then, however, and both signals still retain their original Safetran gate mechs a result. Strangely, the closer gate mech makes a few pops when it begins to lower, no idea what causes it to do that.
Thankfully, Crownover Road was closed on this day due to bridge work just west of this crossing, not that I would've been here long enough to cause any big issues to begin with.
