It's been a little while, so I'm pretty sure most of y'all here have heard, but recently (within this month, IIRC), CSX retired all of their B40-8s and C40-8s. This means that there are no more standard-cab GEs that you'll see on the CSX, making the standard-cab EMDs (GP-series engines (except for the GP38-3s), SD38-2s, SD40-2s, SD50s, and the SD60s) the only standard-cab engines you'll see on the CSX anymore, with the exception of foreign power.
Rumor has it though that the standard-cab GEs are going to be shipped to GE for rebuilds.

Shame... They've probably been in service for many years now.freebrickproductions wrote:It's been a little while, so I'm pretty sure most of y'all here have heard, but recently (within this month, IIRC), CSX retired all of their B40-8s and C40-8s. Not really. Maybe 20-30 years ago, but now, not so much. All of their wide-cab Dash-8s are remaining in service though. Also, the majority of their fleet these days seems to be either AC44CWs and/or GEVOs.ZachL wrote:Holy cow, aren't those pretty much a majority of their fleet?!
