Judging by the photos, i couldn't understand how they could even repair them, 130 was unrepairable. While AMTK 47 is laying on its side. The engine in trail on the CSX train looks still usable because i don't really see any damage, but i wonder if they decided to retire that engine anyway?freebrickproductions wrote:It appears so, and likely scrapped as well, since it hasn't been seen since February:Ethan the Railfanner wrote:Since CSX 130 - AC4400CW was retired, I'm likely thinking Amtrak 47 - P42DC was retired too? These were locomotives that were involved in the Dixiana, South Carolina train crash back in February.

Re: CSX Engine Retirements
The trailing locomotive was CSX 36 - AC4400CW. As far I know, it’s likely in storage. I saw CSX 36 in Greebrier, TN not too long ago, but I don’t remember seeing CSX 130 - AC4400CW in person before it was retired.

CSX Locomotive Roster Update As of 01 October 2018
Welcome to this month’s CSX Locomotive Roster Update! This update covers all changes discovered since 01 September through 01 October.
This report represents to the best of our knowledge, the working CSX locomotive roster. There are always changes we are not yet aware of – if you think you’ve spotted a new repaint, let us know!
This month we were able to confirm another slate of retirements, this time a bunch of random units in the end-cab switcher department. Interestingly, every single update for this month involves an EMD, no GEs to be found.
We can also confirm that CSX does have 10 SD70ACe-T4s on order for 2019 delivery, likely in Q1 or Q2. Beyond the fact that there is an order, we don’t yet know how they’ll be numbered, or anything else really.
Any questions? Comment below!

Now they're going for their switcher units, no wonder why they retired their NRE 3GS21B so early, i feel like they weren't even given a chance.Ethan the Railfanner wrote:CSX Locomotive Roster Update As of 01 October 2018

Re: CSX Engine Retirements
Also, I found this:
CSX Locomotive Roster, if all storage units were retired
So this hypothetical update takes the current roster and subtracts out all units currently in storage as part of the precision scheduled railroading makeover. Basically we take the storage list and “retire” them all. Yes, it’s gross. There are over 800 units on the storage list. No, we don’t think they’ll all be going away. But it’s an interesting “what if”. So here goes…
Any questions? Comment below!
What all would be retired?
1 ES44AH, leaving 548
2 CW44AH, leaving 126
23 CW44AC, leaving 461
1 ES40DC, leaving 300
13 C40-9W, leaving 36
3 C40-8WM, leaving 7

7 SWMTYS, leaving 16
It’s worth noting here that for many model types, like the GEVOs, that the units in storage are likely mechanical in nature, but deemed currently not worth rebuilding, so they’re left in storage. But the mass storage types, like the SD50-2, SD70AC, and C40-8W are clearly visible as potential losses to future cuts.
With all of this in mind, if these units were all retired tomorrow, the new roster stats would look like:
Paint totals, (pct), change:

YN3: 1384 (45.18%) -545

No, they are not going to retire all of these locomotives in their next update, but this is an imagine if CSX retired all of their locomotives in storage.

No, they are not going to retire all of these locomotives in their next update, but this is an imagine if CSX retired all of their locomotives in storage.

Re: CSX Engine Retirements
Look's like no locomotives were retired in November, and i'm not aware of any locomotives that were scrapped in wrecks or damaged, etc.
The SD70ACe T-4's are not far off from their delivery to CSX within the next few months either.

Re: CSX Engine Retirements
I wonder what could change by then, maybe a few retirements, or maybe a mass-retiring...Several have asked now about the 7812. As the "CSX 1992", it led Bush 41's 1992 re-election campaign whistle stop tour.
It is still on the roster, still wearing YN2.
Full roster update coming shortly. We only had two change discoveries in October so this will be a combined Oct/Nov update.

Re: CSX Engine Retirements
Looks like nothing really happened except for four locomotives getting repainted.CSX Locomotive Roster Update As of 01 December 2018
Welcome to this month’s CSX Locomotive Roster Update! This update covers all changes discovered since 01 October through 01 December.
This report represents to the best of our knowledge, the working CSX locomotive roster. There are always changes we are not yet aware of – if you think you’ve spotted a new repaint, let us know!
There was no update in November because we only had one repaint to share – hardly worth putting the report together. The good news is we found more changes in November: the bad news is that it was limited to just three more repaints for a grand total of just four changes discovered in the last two months.

Re: CSX Engine Retirements
Look's like the new 10 SD70ACe T-4's that CSX have ordered are slowly coming closer...
Report: CSX's 10-unit order of SD70ACe-T4s will be numbered 8900-8909. Unconfirmed.
Delivery timeline likely late Q1 or early Q2.
