Last day of the Central Maine And Quebec

Can't have signals without railroads, so talk about your favorite locomotives, railroads and any other (non signal) railroad related stuff.

Last day of the Central Maine And Quebec

Post by Steven429 » Tue Jun 02, 2020 9:18 am

Today, June 2nd, marks the final day of operations of the Central Maine And Quebec before it starts to integrate into the Canadian Pacific. With trackage being upgraded, new trains, and pay going up (supposedly) it's a win-win imo.
As for the ones who want to know where are the locomotives going, all of the SD40-2Fs, three GP38-3s (those that are painted in CMQ colors), a SD40-2, and the 6 B23-7s are being transferred to CP, the rest are still owned by the leasers and not on lease to own deals.
All CP will probably keep in the long run are the 38s and the 40-2. After all, those SD40-2Fs were theirs at one point, and the B23-7s are all dead (except one). So three units for the long run, and not even the AC44CWs.

I never got to see the CMQ in action, but their paint job was quite cool and it's unfortunate to see it vanish.
