September Photo Of The Month !Gateless Month!
OK New Theme to this photo of the month area. I am deciding that every month will be a new twist and every once in a while I'll add a free month where you can submit anything. But THIS month is gateless Month. No gated signals are allowed! Light sizes do not matter! Crossbuck only signals I WILL ONLY ALLOW IF THEY HAVE A BELL! IF NO BELL, SO SUBMIT!
YES!
YES!
HELL YEAH!
NOPE!
So Post away your gateless pics!

The Point Adams Rd. grade crossing in Marshland, OR, just west of Clastkanie.
Two 12*20 mast signals, a Safetran bell & a rusty WCH m-bell.
Also, note the location of the relay case.
And yes, that's my finger in the upper right corner.

Heres mine: some 12''x24'' safetran lights and a safetran, this line sees one or 2 CN coal trains a week and a few I&M coal trains with UP power.

This crossing is near & dear to me... my grandparents used to live in a house just to the left and across the street from where I took this photo... this is how I fell in love with trains and crossing signals.
The crossing is on South Main St in Canton, IL and used to be just 8 inch lights facing the main road and no bell. Sometime in the mid 1980's the older signals were replaced with these signals with 3 sets of side lights and a mechanical bell. The lights are all Safetran except for some reason they put a set of WCH lights on the signal with the bell. Has been that way since they were installed.
This line went unused for several years in the early 2000's until the KJRY took over this line in 2006 or 2007. I really would like to get this crossing in action again one day but don't have a lot of time right now to get up there and not real sure of when train movements occur down this part of the line.
