Do they still make Safetran Bells?

Talk about crossing signal companies here. International companies are okay too.

Correct. A Safetran Type-2 e-bell has an exposed area on the base, whereas an NEG e-bell has a metal ring around the base.

Actually, NEG and Safetran Type 2s are exactly the same externally. UP just likes to put metal rings around the bases of theirs. However, some NEG e-bells have a very similar base to that of a General Signals e-bell.

I guess you're right, although for a while it almost looked like CSX was doing the same:

That's probably what it's mounted on showing through the base.

A year or two ago, i watched this Australian Railroad Crossing video, and the Safetran Type 3 electronic bell sound got me interested into finding out more about it.

When i posted in the comments, some guy said this.

" Siemens "Wayguard Level Crossing Bell"

So i searched it and found nothing related to it. Until someone later posted in the comments stating it was the Safetran Type 3.

Although i do adore them, the only problem is that they can either die quickly or get damaged (depending if it is the 1st generation or 2nd)

South 28th Street, San Diego CA.
The bell appears to have broken away from the bottom part, i couldn't see any damage to the signal it was based on. So maybe it could've been damaged by weather?

West Gore Street, Orlando FL.
The top of the bell has completely vanished, maybe this could've been weather related too?

Safetran is now owned by Siemens, but some products are carried under the Siemens and Safetran name.
