they sound weird, but they have to be louder than the light rail horn, metrolink needs a good 3 chime hell they go 90 mph so a 5 chime should be used.
in Chicago they made quiet zones but still have there 5 chimes I guess its a trade off too

Every morning when I visit California, I go to this crossing in Riverside, CA that gets 80+ freighters a day and 50+ Metrolinks a day, I think I have heard enough Metrolink horns to understand. :LOL3:
