This is rediculous. Witnesses say the signals were working.

My friend was on that train, he is the one that took those photos on railpics.

It is starting to sound like the trucking company has lots of safety violations, and that the truck may have lost its brakes and wasn't able to stop. If that's the case, then it becomes an even bigger tragedy.

As for the brakes failing, it says that there are over 300 ft of skid marks. The drivers has multiple violations in the past several years. I'd be willing to bet money that the driver had been using drugs. An accident this rediculous generally involves drugs or alchol. The truck driver seems to be the drug addict/alcholic/white trash type of person.

Probably tried to beat the train and then he couldn't and slammed on the break but it was too late

Interesting that the signals themselves were not damaged at the crossing... although it is obvious the crash took out the control box. Both gates are still down in all those pictures.
