So it appears (if it is due to a quiet zone) it is specifically for that crossing? The next crossings up in both directions are just 2 signals. Maybe because the quad crossing is right next to some homes?ToledoRailfan wrote:That makes sense, still pretty odd though.freebrickproductions wrote:Must be a quiet zone.ToledoRailfan wrote:Yea, ignoring how some of the gates had yellow instead of white stripes it is pretty odd to see Quad-gate setups on a small regional class 2/3.ZachL wrote:Nice catch there!cabman701 wrote:I agree with the exit gate theory. I do agree that it's very strange though. Wonder why they'd do something like that?
Did anyone move forward a little?

Why would those gates even be there? Is that an FRA violation, or maybe something recent? I doubt recent though because of the parallelogram (versus rectangular) striping.

I just noticed also... there is another crossing with the yellow exit gates:

This sign confirms that it is a quiet zone:

Kind of interesting.

That first one is likely due to visibility; not only is it on a hill, but there are trees in the way as well.ToledoRailfan wrote:Kind of interesting.

That third one is interesting! I wonder why the lights on the cantilever are center/right instead of left/right.

I was thinking the same, but I wonder why they'd need to be removed...ToledoRailfan wrote:Maybe there use to be another set of lights there.ZachL wrote:That first one is likely due to visibility; not only is it on a hill, but there are trees in the way as well.ToledoRailfan wrote:Kind of interesting.

Maybe they thought one was only necessary, maybe at one point two sets were needed.ZachL wrote:I was thinking the same, but I wonder why they'd need to be removed...ToledoRailfan wrote:Maybe there use to be another set of lights there.ZachL wrote:That first one is likely due to visibility; not only is it on a hill, but there are trees in the way as well.ToledoRailfan wrote:Kind of interesting.

That crossing looks like it gets a lot of traffic too!
