Maybe due to it being an exit gate? The other exit gate is the same way:

I do agree that it's very strange though. Wonder why they'd do something like that?
I agree with the exit gate theory. Interesting idea actually.

Did anyone move forward a little?

Nice catch there!

Why would those gates even be there? Is that an FRA violation, or maybe something recent? I doubt recent though because of the parallelogram (versus rectangular) striping.
Yea, ignoring how some of the gates had yellow instead of white stripes it is pretty odd to see Quad-gate setups on a small regional class 2/3.
Must be a quiet zone.
That makes sense, still pretty odd though.
So it appears (if it is due to a quiet zone) it is specifically for that crossing? The next crossings up in both directions are just 2 signals. Maybe because the quad crossing is right next to some homes?

I just noticed also... there is another crossing with the yellow exit gates:

This sign confirms that it is a quiet zone:

Here's another one:

I think there were a couple more on that line.

This crossing is located right in front of a border crossing!

Another crossing in front of a border crossing.
That first one is likely due to visibility; not only is it on a hill, but there are trees in the way as well.

That third one is interesting! I wonder why the lights on the cantilever are center/right instead of left/right. :Sneaky:

I was thinking the same, but I wonder why they'd need to be removed...

Maybe they thought one was only necessary, maybe at one point two sets were needed.
