My guess would be the extra pair of lights is because of the bus stop, as the bottom pair of lights would be obscured when a bus was stopped there https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-32.917 ... 312!8i6656

The crossing was upgraded in August 2016, prior to this both pedestrian crossings had GRS semaphore gate mechs. Now it's just the usual boring stuff. https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-32.918 ... 312!8i6656

Check out how this signal was moved to enable the upgrade of the pedestrian crossing....

Looks like they mounted the two pieces wrong.
They/Them for me, please.

I wonder why the first link shows the road instead of the crossbuck. I'll fix it in my original post.

Found these cantilevers in Pennsylvania with a rather interesting way to include gates.

Classic signals... but the one of the right looks like it's been hit. Leaning quite a bit.

The base is cracked... and they used duct tape to put it back together! :Scared:

I'd be curious to see if the gate still lowers correctly with the signal leaning like that. Hopefully it's received some TLC since 2012 when Google last came through there.

Nice find! That is just strange! Kind of like a poor-man's WT/F cantilever.

Redneck railroad! :LOL3:

I wonder if that is the same abandoned Septa line that you posted in Tracks out of service earlier today.

What I want to know is why did they do that instead of putting up those gate mechanisms made for attaching to a cantilever?
Crossing pictures from Plant City, FL are finally here! viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2538

On the topic of strange set-ups, here's this. They're also active in the StreetView.

Those are WT/F (Yes!) cantilevers. I forgot who the manufacturer is. Although I don't recall ever seeing one with the gate in front of the cantilever instead of behind before!
