Oddball gates, mechanisms, and counterweights

Post by gedunk »

Seems like the teardrop bell thread is changing to this topic, so I thought I'd start the topic proper and be the first.

Is it time for another Google Maps scavenger hunt?

Please! No posting of of teardrop bells on this thread.

Those look like some kind of used sub-compact model... Like the Geo to our Ford SUV.

I like the lights on that signal too. Pointed towards one way on that street... but no lights pointing the other way. Guess they don't care about cars coming that way, just let them smack into the gate if it's down.

By the way... just have to do this after reading all these threads... It's been raining here too! :Tongue1:

Yeah, I think some "growth" is in order for that signal instead of relying on the lights from the back side of other signal to cover the approach from the right. Although those 7" gate lights look killer also on there...it's tough NOT to see them!

(Since everyone's into this rain thing... We got almost 4" of rain here yesterday. Enough to leave a nice puddle soaking over the E-18 crossing, evidentally causing it to activate falsely this morning while on my drive to work.)

Not exactly odd, but kind of funny.

looks like someone stuck a weight for a Griswold or a Safetran EM Gate mechanism, and I am sorry but that looks stupid.
