This CSX crossing in Georgia looks a lot like a 1990s NS install!

Interesting signal here:
https://www.google.com/maps/@33.6692586 ... 312!8i6656

Active crossing:
https://www.google.com/maps/@33.629468, ... 312!8i6656
It also appears to be a pure 1980s CSX install!

Wonder why the lights were off-set here?
https://www.google.com/maps/@33.6146811 ... 312!8i6656

One-signal wonder!
https://www.google.com/maps/@33.5438443 ... 312!8i6656

Another active crossing:
https://www.google.com/maps/@33.5536743 ... 312!8i6656

Some classic SAL US&S signals with what appears to be a WCH mechanical bell:
https://www.google.com/maps/@33.4628067 ... 312!8i6656

More classic SAL US&S signals, this time with a neat cantilever and a General Signals e-bell:

That is really oldd. I wonder why they only installed one signal? That has to be an FRA violation. Although I guess one signal is better than none.

I don't understand by the meaning "Rough Crossing"
This crossing is also violating FRA rules by having stop signs placed.

It means that the grade is rough.

Kind of unusual seeing an advance warning sign on the street sign post

Kind of odd having the advance warning sign so close to the crossing, it might be like because the road turns into a private drive close to the crossing. Although having the advance warning sign that close to the crossing kind of defeats the purpose of having it, they could have at least installed it on the right side of the road. The sign saying that there are no gates or lights was unnecessary.

Hrm, even though seeing a 2nd track installed for the new SunRail service a few years ago along with a November 2012 collision with Amtrak 91 and a dump truck they install these signals, but never renew the old grade from the first track.

It means that the grade is rough.
It's not even always the condition of the grade. For example, no matter how many times NS redoes the grade at Slaughter Road, the crossing has always had a "rough crossing" sign posted at it due to the crossing being on the side of a hill.

This crossing in Powder Springs, Georgia has a rough crossing, along with that its a No Horn Zone, its weird to find the NO TRAIN HORN sign to be diamond shaped instead of rectangular. They also have a central divider there too.

1990's NS installation.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@33.85956 ... 312!8i6656
However, it has now gone since the crossing is now quad gated and now a No Horn Zone. Whats stranger is the DOT tag is on every signal.

Active crossing.

1980's CSX installation.

Interesting approach markers.

Another active crossing.

Looks as if the train is just a NS locomotive going to hook up to other engines.

Crossing being refurbished.

These road markers are interesting.

Inverted 2 tracks sign!

Not sure whats going on here, maybe a blockage has stopped this NS local from proceeding further.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@33.81383 ... 312!8i6656
Unnecessary modification. Back in 2007 there was a light extension with Safetran 12x24 inch lights.

When did NS switch from 12x24" lights to 12x20?
