Wonder if the lower arm on one of them got whacked by something and wasn't ever properly fixed?ToledoRailfan wrote:Interesting old cantilevers in Port Colborne, Ontario.

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Looks like someone or something broke the crossing gate at this crossing and I wonder if this is keeping the crossing activated.brett nc railfanner wrote:Active crossing in Tampa, Florida:

Looks like someone hit it, although it was active for this train here:TheSignalMan2000 wrote:Looks like someone or something broke the crossing gate at this crossing and I wonder if this is keeping the crossing activated.brett nc railfanner wrote:Active crossing in Tampa, Florida:

There's also this gate right here that's not fully in the up position, so that it balances out with the broken gate on the other side:

Active crossing in Miami, Florida.

This signal is placed sideways!

Malfunctioning crossing

That one could be the culprit. It appears to be hung up on the wind guard.ZachL wrote: There's also this gate right here that's not fully in the up position, so that it balances out with the broken gate on the other side:

However both gates are normally more vertical when the crossing is property deactivated.

Probably an impatient driver whacked the one gate... cuz that never happens here.
Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Deactivating I believe. It's half a quad crossing, so the one gate is delayed it appears.NathanFromEngland wrote: Malfunctioning crossing

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Believe it or not... I believe they do that on purpose. The quad gate is on a delay... so the ped gate will lower first (with the main gates), then the quad gate will lower. Yes... kind of silly. But I have seen this before.NathanFromEngland wrote:Whoops!
