Here in America, police officers have to sit in their cars along a road with a radar gun to enforce speed laws (though most will generally let drivers go up to about 9 MPH above the speed limit). Some small towns, in an effort to generate money, will have the speed limit on the highways through the town lowered to "entice" people to speed and then strictly enforce the speed limit, so even people going 1 MPH above the speed limit are likely to get ticketed. One speed trap near me is Town Creek, AL, who has the speed limit on AL 20 drop from 65 to 55 and then to 45 upon entering the town, with a police officer almost always out and watching people's speeds, and their city limits extend well west of what could be considered the "true" western edge of town, quite clearly for the purposes of trying to make money from tickets.

Sometimes, you get speed trap towns like Castleberry, AL, which impounded people's cars and then charged hundreds of dollars to let the cars go, only for the cars to have been impounded for almost no reason at all:

Whenever i think about "Speed Traps" It makes me think about Forza Horizion. There, i used to tune my cars as fast as they could go to try and break my personal bests.

Yea, though news broke a few months later after that article (and a few others on more national news sites like Forbes) came out that the town's police department's future is uncertain (due to people avoiding the town and slowing down through it, causing them to be losing ticket/impounding revenue as a result).

This one appears to be manually controlled from right at the crossing, and can be seen with the gates lowered before GSV reaches the crossing as well. Based on how there's no lights here, I bet it's safe to say that the crossing normally has the gates lowered and raises them for road traffic to be let through:
