Hawthorne Ave, Independence, MO
Recorded on 2-21-20. Finally was able to catch this crossing in action besides that malfunction I have filmed here. I was in the area after dropping a friend off when I decided to film a late 311. This crossing has had some changes over the years from the lights being retrofitted to Electro-Tech leds (which some were replaced by GE Dotted Leds), to the first gen wch mechanical bells being replaced to the current gs type 3's. Nonetheless, I was glad to finally film this crossing. Note, this crossing along with WIlson Rd, and Arlington Ave have the tendency to get blocked by stopped UP freights as these crossings are near Rock Creek Junction.
Proud owner of 7 mechanical bells along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.
