Honestly, that makes the WCH bell unique.

It seems that some WCH mechanicals, especially the newer ones, will do this naturally due to the cheaper manufacturing processes for the bells, but I still love them all the same. In fact, my WCH bell does this even though it's brand new and has barely seen any use, but I don't mind it too much. Seems to be just the way it is. Doesn't seem to get any worse or better though:
I know this is a bump, but that sounds right, newer WCH bells always sound weaker.

OG signal collection signature, I think. :LOL2:

Yeah, NJT has a bunch of new WCH bells and they all seem offbeat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb1D4MX78ek

Yeah, I think it is the plastic parts that are wearing relatively quickly. It also is kinda annoying because after a few months, they sound weak. It makes new WCH bells sound like they are dying.

Yeah. Things were made much better. Bryant zinc bells are louder than WCH and they are from 100+ years ago!

Yeah, even Safetran bells can ring ridiculously fast for years and be fine.
