*originally recorded on 9-27-20*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, an NEG electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, an NEG LED gate light, and RECO LED gate lights.

After catching the northbound intermodal train, the block signals just north of the crossing started indicated another northbound was on the way, so I started to make my way back down to this crossing. On my way, I heard the train call the Cullman Hold-out signal at King Edward Street, so I had to rush to set-up, and, as you can see, I was just only barely able to get a decent video of this crossing. Unfortunately, in my rush to set-up, I didn't realize there was another ant hill right where I was putting my tripod, so I got to have more ants attack my legs...
Thankfully though, the train I caught here was definitely the best one I'd seen both on this day and the day before. The train was a northbound autorack train with a YN3b SD40-3 leading a YN3b AC44CW and a YN2 AC44CW! Been a good while since I'd seen an older EMD leading a road freight, especially on a CSX train. After this, I went on home, so CSX definitely saved the best for last for me on this one.

As you can see, the only major change here was that both GS Type 2s here were replaced with NEG e-bells. Not entirely sure why it was done, but I guess this crossing is a bit more boring now. One of the gate lights was also replaced for some reason. Might see about coming back down here soon-ish and getting a better video of this crossing, assuming I have the time to do so.

The northbound intermodal train met CSX I029 at SE Holmes Gap, so I went down to this crossing to film it as well. Here we see the eighth train I caught on this day: CSX I029 with a pair of ES40DCs, numbered only three units apart, for power.

Since I last filmed this crossing, CSX has replaced the tip gate light on the far signal with another NEG LED gate light. No other changes have occurred to these signals though, and these 2000s CSX signals are honestly starting to look rather nicely aged these days, especially with the fading backgrounds on the lights.

No changes to this crossing's equipment as of 3-11-25:

New concrete medians have been installed around the crossing, however, for the creation of the quiet zone here.
