Signal Setups By Railroads Feature

Post by tomasthetrain3 » Tue May 13, 2025 6:20 pm

Hello everyone. This is tomasthetrain3 here. We have a brand new feature coming soon to the site that I've been working on. I'd like to introduce you all to... "Signal Setups By Railroads". Screenshot preview below.

Railroads will be divided into their own tables, so BNSF will get one, CN will get one, etc. Another feature of this sheet will be columns. This will make it so things like the bells, cantilevers, and light frames get their own sections in each table, instead of having to cram everything in one column. Era's will be for every 1st column in each table. To explain what Era's mean, this tells us what era each railroad's crossing equipment was. For ones that are still used to this day, like BNSF for example, it would be something like "2010s-present". Former railroads won't get dates and will instead receive their own names in place of the dates. Lastly, there will be picture examples. These will redirect you to a picture link on Mike's Railroad Crossing Website, since I can't attach images into cells or else they'd appear very tiny.

This will be a unique feature to the site. However, non-admin users will not be able to edit the sheet or else it will be counted as vandalism. This is meant for admins only. You are however, welcome to shoot me or the admins a message if there is a change you want. But not now since this ain't out yet.

Stay tuned, I'm not entirely sure when this will come out. I'm hoping this will be something you all enjoy.

Okay, so I have one question: what about fallen flags that used different varieties of equipment over the years? Some railroads, like the SCL (and SBD) liked to change-up what they used every few years it seems (though, in the case of the SBD, they may have been trialing equipment for what CSX would ultimately use).
They/Them for me, please.
