Wenasoga Road (TN 234), Chewalla, TN
*originally recorded on 2-12-19*
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 8 inch lights and a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 8 inch lights.
The main reason I went on out here was that this crossing was one of the main reasons I made this trip. It features a rather classic pair of SOU signals from the 1970s, that still retain the original 8 inch lights! The bell was replaced sometime a bit more recently it appears and is a General Signals Type 3 e-bell currently. However, as there's no streetview here, I'm not sure what bell the crossing would've had previously. Either way, it's nice to see that there's still a gateless 8 inch crossing on the NS somewhere, especially along a mainline.
They/Them for me, please.

Thankfully still the same as of 3-18-26:
Within a few months, however, this crossing would be upgraded to LED.
