A couple of questions

Post by CrossingRailfan »

So I got a few questions for crossing documentation and here are they.
1. For directions what do I do for a 4 signal mast setup? (Example: if I have 2 crossing signals on one side of the road and 2 on the other side of the tracks what do I do when making it?)
2. What do I do for bell only crossings?
I like trains, railroad crossings and garbage trucks.

1. I'd say:
  • For quad-gates: <Direction 1> Entry, <Direction 1> Exit, <Direction 2> Entry, <Direction 2> Exit
  • For median signals: <Direction 1> Shoulder, <Direction 1> Median, <Direction 2> Shoulder, <Direction 2> Median
Of course, you could also do them in the order of Entry 1, Entry 2, Exit 1, Exit 2/Shoulder 1, Shoulder 2, Median 1, Median 2; though I will admit I do prefer just numbering the signals (i.e. Signal #1, Signal #2, Signal #3, etc.) on my pages without regard to direction for reasons like this.

2. Those tables just need a column for the lone signal (assuming it just has one bell-only signal) with the info for the base and bell filled-out. You should remove the other information rows, as you would with a gateless crossing, but you can just put "N/A" in those cells if that's not possible.
They/Them for me, please.
