Signal on the far left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs and a Safetran Type 2 electronic bell.
Signal on the near left: 3 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs and a dead General Signals electronic bell.
On October 3rd, vtgrxrman and I got on up and hit the road for Kentucky to see about trying to get a couple of siren tests on this weekend. On our way up, as we had plenty of time to kill, we decided to stop in Hopkinsville to see if we could catch a train or two on the CSX Henderson Subdivision. After a bit of waiting, we were able to catch our first train of the day: a northbound CSX grain train with an ES44AH leading an AC44CW for power.
This crossing is a pretty neat one, featuring an install with both signals located on the same side of the road. Due to a grain elevator located on the right side of the road here, CSX chose to install a bit of an unusual cantilever on the left side of the road, which is pretty cool to see. The signals here were installed by CSX in the mid-90s, though, in the 2000s, it appears, CSX replaced both bells here with the current e-bells. After that, sometime between 2015 and when @EthantheRailfanner first visited this crossing in 2020, CSX upgraded to this crossing to LED. Thankfully, since then, nothing else appears to have changed to this crossing, which is nice to see. Unfortunately, the GS e-bell here died at some point before Ethan got a chance to film this crossing, so I suspect it'll be replaced with an NEG e-bell at some point. Still, this was a pretty nice crossing to have filmed, especially for my first crossing I've filmed in Kentucky since 2023.
The cantilever here is also a bit far back from the line, due to there once being a 2nd track through this crossing when the signals were originally installed.
