Post by realtrainhorns »

Hi, All
I am looking for a single arm gate mechanism, don't need the gate or counterweights.
If anyone has one or knows where one is please contact me.

single arm gate mech? You mean a mechanism that has only one gate arm like a triangle, or a gate that has one very long arm and a elbow lookingish arm?

That looks like it would work. The ones with the dual shafts are just so big and looks completly out of scale. Thanks for your reply I am new to the signal collecting hobby.

I don't know how much you're willing to spend...but I have one of those WABCO Model AL-70's. I got it from http://www.railroadstuff.com Dave Newell is the guy's name...and he's really nice. Try giving him a call...or emailing him to see if he has an extra one...which I'm pretty sure he probably does.

I think that I will just go with a rotating banner instead of the crossing arm. Thanks to all that replied.
Thanks, Ed
