I really hope all those old signals find a new life, weather it be in somebody's yard or at an active crossing somewhere.

The railroad just went through my signal maintainer friends yard and scrapped piles of pre 1950's light assemblies, masts, gate mechs, signs, and block signal heads. They loaded them up in a scrap gon and took them to the scrapper. Lots of vintage US&S, WRRS, Transport Products, WABCO, and GRS stuff.
Would that stuff not be worth far more sold as collector's items?
Or is trying to sell it as such not worth the effort?
