Re: Bell only crossings
This one had flashing lights at one point, but is down to crossbucks, a bell and EXEMPT signs. It's actually out of service, there's a section of track removed and no trains can get to it. It probably won't exist for much longer, or it might already be gone.

Look on top of the bell. It almost looks like there is a gate light on there?Smjh1979 wrote:Here's a real dumb setup in Eastern Arizona. Two warning signs, one bell. No crossbucks or lights or gates.

If you move around to the other side you can see it a little better.

Re: Bell only crossings
well since there is no flashing lights for this so called "Crossing", the engineers have to have a way to make sure the bell is working, so they put a dinky gate light on top to make this look even more retarded.

Rest In Peace Guilford SD26 615!
Re: Bell only crossings
Just doesn't make sense to me. With the way cars are built today, unless you had a window down you would never hear the bell unless you were right next to it. And if you had the radio on... forget it! Just my
worth.

Re: Bell only crossings
That telephone pole is positioned just right so when you glanced over at the second crossbuck, it looked like it had a gate...

Placed because of sight-handicapped or blind pedestrians?
If going to the trouble of train detection and having a bell, why not also flashing lights (o)=(o)
