these bells were put up in 98 and look at them
They still sound like $hit. They have the most durable housing by far. I will give them the aluminum housing idea. They look like a tornado or an air raid siren. I always make fun of them for that. As far as mechanical bells go, I would stick that Safetran solenoid bell up with the US&S and WABCO for one reason; they have very few moving parts. WCH, WRRS, and Safetran bells have a bunch of moving parts and if one goes bad it is in no way fun to replace it up on top of a 16' mast.
YAH
safetrans are my least favorite they are very labor intensive and they dont do well in varying temps.
wch are great except for when that stupid plastic thing breaks
but nothing beats the WABCO and US&S Model 15A as far as fewer parts and sound
the bells I grew up with were
wch, wrrs, safetran,(UP) Wabco (on csx not many) and teardrops (ex frisco BN)

I meant the example in the video. But all WCH electronics are bad in my opinion. Just my
Edit: You hate Safetran type 3? Then come to the west coast, they sound much better!

All the brand new UP installs around here sound bell on power-up to gate down and gate rise to deactivation.
Whereas all the older installs are from power up to power down.
Although for some strange reason, all the new 4-quad installs are bell from power up to power down.

NICE P3 ON THAT GE AC4460CW AND WCH E-BELLS
UP has always wired the bells to ring when the gates go up It should NOT do that
