This has been a major hit on Youtube, but if you haven't seen it yet, you should.
Guy had his video camera recording as he took shelter in a gas station in Joplin. The station took a nearly direct hit. Not much video but the audio is somthing else. Approximately 20 people huddled in the beer cooler and survived.
There is also a link to a 2nd video he shot the next day showing what very little was left of the gas station.
I've played the first video about 5 times now and it still gives me goosebumps.

We had a decent tornado in the area this evening! We do get them every now and then, but what usually doesn't happen is that someone gets it on video! The tornado touched down about 35 miles to the west of me. This storm did eventually go right over me, but it was just heavy wind and vivid lightning. Lots of people are without power for the second time in a week (thanks to Irene last week), but we didn't lose power last week and we didn't lose power tonight either! Pretty amazing video footage...

After surveying the damage, the NWS office confirms the tornado to be an EF1:
SUNDAY AFTERNOON A TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NEAR THE TOWN OF FLORIDA IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY. IT MOVED NORTHEAST TO THE WESTERN END OF GLENVILLE IN SCHENECTADY COUNTY. THE DAMAGE PATH WAS APPROXIMATELY HALF A MILE WIDE AND ABOUT 7 MILES LONG. DAMAGE WAS EXTENSIVE ALONG THE ENTIRE PATH LENGTH...WITH THE WORST DAMAGE IN THE TOWN OF CRANESVILLE. DAMAGE INCLUDED NUMEROUS TREES SNAPPED OFF AND UPROOTED...BROKEN WINDOWS TO HOMES...SHINGLES STRIPPED OFF ROOF TOPS...AND SOME HOUSES HAD PARTS OF THEIR ROOFS TORN OFF. NUMEROUS SHEDS AND OUT BUILDINGS WERE DESTROYED.

I will definitely say that 2011 has been one of the best storm seasons.
