I'm using the resume switch to move my speed up in the car. These are the cruise indiactors in the display and on the speedometer. The display will say cruise set when you set, resume,or move the speed up.The green light on the dash indicates cruise has been set.

My first car (1991 Dodge Daytona) had it, My 1999 Ford Taurus had it, and my current car (1997 Ford Thunderbird) has it also.

my 1997 Eclipse has cruise control, but it doesn't work for some odd reason. the CRUISE will come on, but when I push SET, it doesn't set. SO I have been driving without it. The only time I ever would use control was goign to work or Mobile on the Interstate. I would never use it to train chase with. I would always be slowing down due to idiotic old people who can't read the speed limit 55 sign and i am goign about 30.

My video of it.
My buddy has an Audi Allroad with a very similar style of that switch.

It's old enough, the system is probably a vacuum system and the rubber tubing has degraded so it can't hold the pressure necessary to pull the throttle cable. Should be a cheap and easy fix; literally, less than a dollar or two for some basic rubber tubing.

On a somewhat off-topic note, my Accent didn't have A/C, but the Sonoma does, so despite my MPG being cut in half, at least I have features I didn't have before.
Man Hyundai really had people annoyed when they delayed the intro of cruise on the Accent for as long as they did. Just now, for the 2009 model year have they introduced it. But you can still get one without a radio.

Cool video...I wish mine had that trip computer. This little clip inspired me to create just a brief video of me starting my car.
