Cats are my favorite. Cats are intelligent, fascinating creatures - you have to figure them out. Unlike dogs, they make you EARN their friendship! It's entertaining to watch them climb, chase, and hunt. And they keep your feet warm at night!! (I wonder what the BTU value of a cat is? )

I'm a total cat person although dogs are fine in my book, too. I think the reason I like cats is that (most of them) don't require your constant attention and they make you earn their love. Dogs' love is very unconditional which is fine, too but when you get a cat to really trust you, you've achieved something.
As far as insects go, I really don't mind spiders at all. I'll pick them up and put them outside...I never kill them if I find them in the house. Put them outside where they can get rid of the REALLY harmful pests.

I've got a dog named Bear, who's 1/2 Bernese Mountain Dog, 1/4 Australian Shepard, & 1/4 Border Collie.
He's large, and in the past, he'd spontaneously take off chasing the cows!
I also have 2 cats, a boy named Lark & a girl named Gert.
Those were the names the shelter personnel gave them.
They'd grown into adult cats in the shelter, as no one wanted them because they are solid black.
I, conversely, saw 2 beautiful cats.
They weren't siblings, but they had a close relationship from playing with each other.
They were a good deal, at $20 each.
They were initially shy, but now, they sit with me early in the morning.
They're unusually quiet.
I'll get photos soon.

Here are most of my cats. We have a fourth named Myra, but she is so scared that I can't take a picture of her. When I do, I'll post it here.

no dogs or cats they both make too much of a mess. But i did have some leopard geckos that were cool. Fish tanks are off the hook as well
