Who made these gate mechs?

BTW, you should get pictures of these crossings and send them to the site.

Those gate mechs were made in Australia by Westinghouse, who also made the hybrid bells and the lights on that crossing. Some time ago Westinghouse was taken over by Invensys, so I guess Siemens owns them now. There is not much information on the web but I'm quite sure that Westinghouse equipment is no longer being made, as all gate mechs installed in Australia are now either WCH or Safetran. The Siemens mechs are starting to appear now and a few Invensys ones were used before then. The last new Westinghouse hybrid bell that I saw installed on a crossing was in 2010.

I am planning a road trip in July and will send some pictures to the site then.

Oh sweet! I'll look forwards to those.
Yea, Safetran, Westinghouse, and Invensys are all technically dead now. The only way they live on is through the names stamped on pieces of crossing equipment, though even that's going away.

Nice find! Appears to still have GRS/WRRS gate mechs as well, and I'm willing to bet that the bells are WRRS too.

That's a great find, it always amazes me what hidden gems are still out there. I had a quick look and there are 2 other crossings in the area with similar setups

East St https://www.google.com/maps/@-34.905212 ... 6656?hl=en

Gibson St https://www.google.com/maps/@-34.906701 ... 6656?hl=en
Looks like the crossing has just activated https://www.google.com/maps/@-34.906701 ... 6656?hl=en

Another interesting part of Adelaide is the tram line which runs from the city to Glenelg Beach. On the sections where there is street running, the crossings are protected by traffic lights such as this https://www.google.com/maps/@-34.979808 ... 6656?hl=en
However, there is a large section where the tram tracks are on their own alignment, and the crossings are protected by gates. They even have their own crossbucks that say "Tram Way Crossing". The operation of the gates works in conjunction with the traffic lights and you can see in this image where the crossing has just activated and the traffic lights are also changing to red https://www.google.com/maps/@-34.967040 ... 6656?hl=en
The same crossing is also the only one left on the tram line with mechanical bells https://www.google.com/maps/@-34.967197 ... 6656?hl=en
There is also another crossing at the end of the line protected only by crossbucks https://www.google.com/maps/@-34.980281 ... 6656?hl=en

Awesome find. And it used to have black painted wishbone gates at one time as well!

I found some older signals on Flickr with Tramway crossbucks with G.R.S Lex-c lights! https://www.flickr.com/photos/baytram366/6828592693

They were still there in 2009. Sixth Ave, Glenelg East

The crossing was upgraded by the time GSV came back in 2013. The lights were replaced by Altsom LED units and they replaced the old gate mechs and mechanical bells. https://www.google.com/maps/@-34.979341 ... 6656?hl=en
