They were supposed to be done by September of 2015, according to the people at the HMCR, IIRC. However, a few white ones still remain in service even after then!
Are the blue DOT tags a federal mandate for all railroads?
I think so as they've been appearing on numerous rail-lines in the country. Although some CSX and BNSF lins in Canada have them strangely enough but without a crossing ID.
Canada is an entirely different system in regards to railroading. :Tongue1:
Which is why I thought it was odd.

Hmm, that is just odd. Maybe they just haven't gotten around to it yet. Does CSX no longer use those crossings?

I wanna say CSX does still send freight up this corridor, but they are no longer the owners of the line. Since then, freight has increased along the S Line headed north through Ocala up to Jacksonville.

Who owns the line now?

SunRail owns about 61 miles worth of trackage.

Interesting, I didn't know that SunRail owned the track.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty interesting. But either way it works out since CSX did also have the S line to send trains up to Jacksonville, although through Ocala instead of Orlando.
