I did catch a not-retired C40-8W at Saundersville Road in Hendersonville, Tennessee on Wednesday. Probably going to be off the roster soon.

Updated thread title to be more general, as CSX is retiring other engines.

The SD60s are still slowly being retired, with at least 27 of them already gone (IIRC). All but four AC60CWs have been retired as well, with 600, 601, 602, and 5016 remaining active, though 600-602 are now classified as AC44CWs.

Probably the Dash-9s before the AC44s. Also, rumor has it that 5016 may be getting retired very soon as well, if it hasn't been already.

I think CSX should keep their AC4400CWs. But if they retire them, that will cost another portion of the roster...

Speak of the devil, it appears that the CSX Dash-9s are going off the roster now. Here's a couple of screenshots from the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum webcam of 9018 with the logos marked out, showing that CSX no longer owns this engine: These were taken by a railfan in a Facebook group I'm in.

Oh bread crumbs! 9018 is strikening off the list!

I'm currently aiming to work for a train conductor for Norfolk Southern and not CSX, because CSX is reducing the number of locomotives from 4k to 2k!
