There is a lot of space for this to be one crossing. They should have just made it two separate crossings or at least a double crossing. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.1689212 ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@41.1688976 ... 6656?hl=en

For some reason, the two mast signals have SORS signs.

I'd like to see that one in action! I'm curious as to how the lights would work. I mean, I have an idea, but it's just weird looking. They should've gated everything, or nothing.

A frame gates in Carlisle, Kentucky!

It's from 2009... so hard to know if they are still there.

Looking at satellite view, it appears that they are sadly gone.

Looks like the closing of that crossing was permanent. On the other side, Street View went by later to confirm that the signals are gone.

Too bad... I was quite curious as to how that crossing worked. Notice on the link where it is active, one of the gates are down in the middle... yet I'm assuming the engine that had triggered the crossing was on the very first track in front of the Google car. Unless there was another train that we could not see...

Old 48° crossbuck. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Dahlg ... 8ff4670bcf
-------------------------
This crossing has no crossbucks. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0540311 ... 6656?hl=en

It does have advanced warning signs. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0543111 ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@35.05382,- ... 6656?hl=en

There are also blackout signs for the crossing. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0538016 ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0539459 ... 6656?hl=en

The crossing and intersection have been removed. Looks like they are re-routing the roads. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0514535 ... 6656?hl=en

For some reason, the traffic signals are still functioning as if the intersection was still there.
https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0514811 ... 6656?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0515146 ... 6656?hl=en

There was also a train coming. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0515146 ... 6656?hl=en
-------------------------
These houses are both surrounded by railroad crossings! I've never seen trains on these specific crossings so I don't know if they function as a double crossing but I doubt they would. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.9098379 ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@41.9103829 ... 6656?hl=en
-------------------------
This is a unique setup. There was a spur here that broke of the mainline near this crossing. The spur was abandoned (most likely before my lifetime), for some reason, the railroad kept this signal which I assume was there because of a former crossing that was close to the active crossing but when the line was abandoned and the crossing was removed, the other signal for the crossing was removed but this one was kept and wired to the active crossing, and the signal may have been replaced and instead of a new signal in a new location, they may have decided to replace the signal in the same location, because the signal was so far away from the active crossing, they added a gateless signal close to the active crossing. The signal did not have a crossbuck which was probably because of this strange setup.

This setup however no longer exists. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.9084084 ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@41.9081291 ... 6656?hl=en

I wish I had gotten pictures of this crossing before it was updated. I can't remember when it was updated.

This driveway has a railroad crossing! I wonder if it had any signage when it was still in service. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.9082702 ... 6656?hl=en

Double crossbuck. https://www.google.com/maps/@42.000197, ... 6656?hl=en
-------------------------
There is a railroad junction on this crossing! https://www.google.com/maps/@42.000186, ... 6656?hl=en

They are probably for a long gone trolley line or a street running spur.
-------------------------
For some reason, this long abandoned spur has new crossbucks.
https://www.google.com/maps/@41.9998818 ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@41.9989967 ... 6656?hl=en
-------------------------
This is a very strange setup. The tracks and road go under this bridge. The tracks go street running. This is basically one large crossing because of the street running and there are no other roads in between the non street running parts so the signals set at the parts from which the road goes street running from non street running. https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5249057 ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5249789 ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5247031 ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5247718 ... 6656?hl=en

Here are some active shots. The crossing was being worked on. https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5248992 ... 1664?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5249874 ... 1664?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5247732 ... 1664?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5247383 ... 1664?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5247057 ... 1664?hl=en
-------------------------
This signal had it's lights removed for some reason. https://www.google.com/maps/@38.696671, ... 6656?hl=en
-------------------------
This signal is on the left side of the road. Probably because the people who lived in the house next to the crossing when the signal was installed did not want it on their land. https://www.google.com/maps/@38.6629523 ... 6656?hl=en

I remember a while back, I made an individual topic about the drive way crossings but I thought it would be better off here. I think someone mentioned the setup because they saw it on the Satellite, I think this was before Google made it possible to see previous views of any area. The Fayetteville, North Carolina ones are just a coincidence.
