All the money Florida puts into study and upgrade crossings I want to know what CSX does with it, Obviously it's not to install GCP/HXP's because all your tail ring BS would be taken care of.
Also too bad the gate didn't fall earlier would have been neat to see how a National Electric Gate saver would have worked.

Looks like the gate saver is new also CSX for once used an Aluminum gate. Here is street view.

"Wow" is about all you can say on that one.

He is darn lucky he maintained enough control to actually make it through the crossing and not end up lodged on the tracks. He would have been a goner for sure.

Yah, What I want to know is since its fairly open country, at night I'd think you'd see the train head light far out, I wonder if they sped up to try to beat the train, then saw the gates come down and tried to slam on the breaks. Either way if CN wanted to press charges against the driver that car not only needs a new window but nailing two aluminum gates at a speed like that your looking at frame damage.
I can just see it now, no officer it was a big ass bird.

How about a train hitting a crossing gate, much less an entire signal?

You know he saw that in his mirror (and probably felt it).

At least the driver of the car that pulled up got out and moved it... instead of just running it over. :TUP2:

From YouTube, this guy caught a train hitting (and destroying) a gate at a crossing because the new gate that had gotten installed here was too long:
