While not a broken gate, here's a video on someone who lifted a gate at a crossing in Glenroy, allowing cars to go through while the crossing was active.

Was that a malfunctioning crossing, though? Still, I know it's illegal to lift gates like that even in the incident of a malfunction.

The gates apparently tend to get stuck down at Glenroy for some reason. A similar thing happens at McGregor Road when both platforms are occupied at the station and a third train is coming, it has to wait for one of the trains at the station to leave before it can enter...
