Just stumbled upon this as well. Seems like a pedestrian crossing with a fire alarm bell:

The traffic lights at this crossing are still green even though the red lights on the crossing signal are flashing.

When the Barinsdale was out of service, they used a speed hump sign to warn motorists of the disused crossing ahead.

More neat finds! It's a shame when they replace older equipment

After seeing this video below, I thought I better photograph the crossings that our government is gonna remove... (I'm hoping to the ones on the Dandenong corridor, especially the two Clayton crossings, the Murrumbeena crossing, and Corrigan Road, Noble Park)

Dan's wig wag site is one of the first railroad websites I found many years ago. Lot's of neat stuff on there. Unfortunately it is no longer updated... it is coming up on 3 years since it last was.

Found some more industrial crossings around Newcastle.

This one is at Kooragang and has Westinghouse hybrid bells

These crossings are on a private spur line which runs into the Goninan facility, they manufacture locomotives and rolling stock.
This one has the old triangles below the crossbucks, Give Way sings are now used instead. It looks like there are workers waiting to flag the crossing, they must be expecting a train as the gates are open.

Only a small part of the line (about 3km I think) in the middle of the city, it was on a dead end and was between Wickham and Newcastle passenger stations. The rest of the rail network is still operational.
