Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Well, I saw that this thread has not been posted in in a while, I thought that I should bring it back to life.
This crossing is actually not too far away from my house.

Well, there was one for Van Ness #1 in Fresno, but it must have been updated.

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Haven't found an active one in awhile. Came across this one. Appears to be a malfunction... or the train is off to the right and too far out of view of the camera:

What made me come here to take a look was this picture on RailPics:

The crossing signals for the crossing in that picture are quite unique:

Doesn't seem to be too much interest in this lately... but I came across this one totally by mistake.

OK... so I'm a little bored tonight and am just trying to drum up some activity on this forum. I stumbled across this crossing and thought it would be appropriate to try and kick start this thread... once again.

Interesting 4 way crossing in Nashville, TN. Also notice the CSX maintainer is on the scene (to the left) and the control box is open. Plus, two of the 4 signals have ASC e-bells!
The part that makes me laugh though is if you "drive" up to the crossing and start to cross the tracks, another train appears out of nowhere on the right.

Been to that crossing many times. It used to be a real bad area, but the last few times I've gone there wasn't anyone else out there.cabman701 wrote:OK... so I'm a little bored tonight and am just trying to drum up some activity on this forum. Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Found another one just southwest of my home town in Curran, IL. The train has just passed in this frame, but if you back up you can see the gates coming down for the train and a glimpse of the train to the left in one of the frames.
