The "before signals" (could not think of a different term) are old incandescent signals while the signals at the intersection are modern L.E.D signals. There is also a blackout signal here which is something that I've not seen on this kind of setup before.

This crossing has pedestrian gates for the sidewalk, something that I have not seen in Michigan. I think they did this here because of Amtrak's high speed rail through here.
