Heh, reminds me of a signal that was here in Huntsville. If I had to guess, Gatlinburg originally had ball indications in the right-hand signals, so the doghouse would've made sense. However, at some point, they decided to put green arrow indications in place of the ball indications in the right-hand pair of signals, but didn't bother to actually swap out the doghouse. In fact, looking at older street view imagery, that appears to have been the case (with the arrows being installed when the signals were upgraded to LED).

Now you remind me of this signal i saw in St Pete Beach last month, never got around to videoing the signal but the doghouse signal displayed a left and right arrow, while the other signal just displayed a right arrow. What's even stranger is that this signal is at a Tradewinds hotel branch, and there isn't even a middle lane. I believe it is probably automatic or sensor controlled. https://www.google.com/maps/@27.7330497 ... 6656?hl=en
Street view likely took the image showing the right-hand signal right as it turned from red to green. It happens occasionally, and you can even do this yourself (even with LED signals, such as those) if you time your camera just right. I've done it a few times before, both intentionally and unintentionally.

well since you guys are talking about traffic signals ii'll put in my
holy f*** no that is anything but odd. in fact it's so common in Florida I didn't even know it was odd elsewhere
I haven't seen anything quite like that before, even in Florida. But beacons on mast arms do happen occasionally, but not usually like that in my experience.

The remains of a demolished pub, i wonder whether the company responsible for demolishing it went bust, or they were unable to find a way to demolish the front of it? https://www.google.com/maps/@52.4916541 ... 312!8i6656
