Another crossing in Melbourne (in the suburb of Mitcham) that 'had' a Safetran Mechanical bell (and a pretty fast one too!):

Why I say 'had' is because, sadly, the crossing was grade separated in January 2014 (along with the nearby Rooks Road crossing):

Thanks Dennis Napthine...

Still nowhere near as bad as Daniel Andrews. He's axing 50 rail crossings in Melbourne!

Found this crossing in Melbourne which previously had Barker Technics Electronic Bells, but was replaced with a GS E-Bell for some reason. Probably the only time I've seen that happened.

If I had to guess, that little spur right there probably sees like 1% usage. Yeah, I agree that a little warning would be nice, and if something like that existed over here it'd probably be illegal as well.

Some Australian signal quirks:
An early version of the 'Crossing Ahead' sign (With a yield sign above it! Sadly, they're since replaced it with a newer style sign):

The more recent version of it:

Not a crossing, but jeez, how low can you get!?:

Active signals:
Officer South Road (Jun 2014):

Clyde Road (Jul 2015):

For some reason, the sign's crooked (since been fixed):
