That line is sadly out of service, and appears to have been for several years. It used to be a Canadian National line, but it was later taken over by a shortline who's since either gone out of business, or cut back the used portion of their line by a lot. Lots of older CN set-ups on that line as well.

Well that's no surprise. But take a look at the crossing in 2008! The gate mechs weren't even there, infact, the signals look different!

Yea, the crossing had some old gateless (Federal Signal?) cantilevers back then.

Any idea what model of gate motor this ped gate is? Think it's interesting that they mounted it "backwards" so the gate would go down in the correct direction. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.3855524 ... 312!8i6656

Came across this interesting signal going to a hockey game last weekend in Tampa. It's for streetcar service. Appears to be 3M light heads and they appear to be yellow in this active shot I found on Streetview: https://www.google.com/maps/@27.9414715 ... 6656?hl=en

US&S Model 95 gate mech. Pretty common on the BNSF.

The semaphore gate mechs were actual products offered by WRRS and GRS, believe it or not.

Ahhh... so they were built for that purpose? I thought they were retired semaphores that got turned into gates.

I've been past that signal on Franklin Street (third/fourth links), but never the 3M beacons on Old Water Street. Good catch!
