Well, i was on the bus, and i noticed that this junction has had a major upgrade. All the original lights were removed (Except for one lone survivor, which is a Mellor head) The signals were beginning to age.

All the new signals have Siemens Helios heads. Along with Siemens LED Pushbutton units. All signals have arrows (I guess?)

The SRL temporary signals are still there, but the signals have been removed except for the pushbuttons and the poles, they were there this morning and were still activated. The pedestrian crossings on the Eastbound and Westbound are not completed yet.

When the roadworks are finished at the end of June, and once Google heads out again i will post the updated junctions!

Signals were only starting to age even though they were at least over 10 years old. Some poles had been installed and some had already had Siemens LED pushbuttons installed. The SRI temporary traffic signal setup is ridiculous. No filter arrows and the signals are placed way back behind the stop line. They did this because all the islands were the traffic lights were originally installed on had to be resurfaced. One signals had 75% of its white backboard missing!

Wanna know what caused the removal of these signals? Heres why!

King Construction carriageway resurfacing works between Stopgate Lane and Lower House Lane have resulted in off-peak lane restrictions until 30th June 2017."

The works have been going on since August 2016, but it got halted in December 2016 due to Christmas traffic and management embargo. The works restarted the following months. Just a month left of all this and 10 months of traffic misery is all behind you. :)

I wonder why these backboards haven't faded yet. Even though this is a 1980's GEC setup.

Some signals were being installed when i noticed. Theres still a lot to do though! They were being installed by the lovely company we all know and love. Siemens Traffic Solutions.

I cometh to bring life to this dead thread. It honestly deserves more attention imo.

To rebirth this thread I'm going to start by bringing this dead conversation to my hometown of Miami, as I often do on this site! ;D
I'd like to share the many variations of Traffic Signals old and new in Miami-Dade County.

Here are some of the still existing Span-Wire Signals here, up until the Mid-Late 90's they used to guard a huge majority of Intersections in the county.
Sadly, with better technology they've become increasingly scarce all around.
I'll start in familiar territory, Hialeah is known locally for having a lot of Span-Wire Signals, so I'll showcase a few for y'all.

W 32nd and Palm Avenue, the Northwest corner of the famous Hialeah Park & Racetrack.

The very major intersection of Red Road and W 29th briefly had a Span-Wire setup while in the upgrading process.

Red Road and W 53rd Terrace had an interesting double-setup up until 2012 or so.

In fact Red Road used to (and to an extent still does) have a lot of Span-Wire Signals. Many can still be found in and around Hialeah, but that's where they've lasted the longest by far. I guess with the few examples I've listed you can see what most Span-Wire setups look like in Miami. I'll definitely post more on Miami Traffic Signals, but I don't want to bombard all of you with too many links and facts for now! :D

Nothing unique about these, really. They're just wired to the Florida standard for spanwire signal installations.

A) It's like that due to airplanes.
B) Not at all. Southeast Florida and the panhandle are the two regions in Florida where vertical signal arrangements are few and far between. They exist as common setups elsewhere in the state.
