There was probably a spur that went through there many years ago next to where the crossbuck is.

Nice find. Sadly the teardrop bell is gone, replaced by a Safetran type 3
I only found that out from the picture on the cover of this report, as GSV hasn't been updated since 2010

It's actually quite rare to see a crossing in NSW with e-bells and old gate mechs (they look like GRS type D), as they are both usually replaced at the same time.

It's not too uncommon to see that in Melbourne...
