That's very sad, seeing a railroad be ripped apart only to be replaced by a damn trail.
Do you think any of the equipment could be salvaged?
Some of the stuff did appear to be newer, and I've heard that the SGLR tends to be rather "thrifty" at times, so I'd imagine that they would keep the equipment and re-use what's still in good shape.
Pretty confident i covered the line a few months ago.

I have seen some signals that were salvaged and used, just the crossbucks were altered IIRC.

Wanna bet that the tracks on the line were "thrifty" as well? :LOL3:

Been a long time since I've posted on this forum.

Some out of service cantilevers at Morton, WA: https://www.google.com/maps/@46.5607688 ... 312!8i6656

This is near the end of an ex-Milwaukee road branch line now owned by Tacoma Rail. The line is not abandoned, but it has not been used since 2006 as of result of several washouts and a compromised bridge. The lumber mill to the right was the lone remaining customer.

Found the remains of two out of service crossings on a spur in Leeds, England, the crossing surface hasn't been resurfaced over and the tracks have been lifted, i would assume that a train obviously hasn't been over here since probably the mid to late 1990's judging by the modern looking Schneider Electric building.

You can still see the ballast from where the tracks were, but i'm not sure when the tracks were lifted however.

Partially intact signals on an out-of-service segment of the Stockton Terminal and Eastern RR east of Stockton, CA: https://www.google.com/maps/@38.0221329 ... 312!8i6656

Per some information on TrainOrders, this track was last used in the late 1980s.

Interestingly enough, they had US&S Teardrops mounted to the sides, but they were removed by 2012.

Remains of a signal. There used to be a crossbuck on there, but it was removed between 2012-2015.

Appears this crossing used to be protected with Wabco triangle gates. Wonder why every signal on this line got downgraded to crossbucks?
